The Presentation Turn: Why Kenzo, Lanvin and Isabel Marant Skipped the Runway

A growing number of houses are choosing static presentations over traditional catwalk shows.

Not every brand at Paris Men's Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 wanted a runway. Kenzo, under Nigo, staged an experiential presentation inside the former Paris home of founder Kenzo Takada rather than a traditional show, while Acne Studios, Lanvin and Isabel Marant all opted for the same static format.

It's a format increasingly favoured by houses that want press and buyers to spend real time with individual garments rather than watch them pass in ten seconds, and it also happens to be considerably cheaper to produce than a full runway spectacle — a consideration that matters more than ever amid a genuinely tremulous luxury market.

With some 38 presentations on this season's official calendar against 36 runway shows, the format is no longer a fallback option; it's a legitimate alternative path through fashion month.
