Matthieu Blazy's second Haute Couture collection for Chanel, shown across two sessions on 7 July, arrived with the kind of scrutiny that follows every major appointment at the house — and, by most accounts, met it.

The show's cast became a talking point in its own right, mixing newer faces like Bhavitha Mandava with house veterans such as Stephanie Cavalli, a pairing that read as a deliberate statement about what continuity looks like under a new creative director. Coming just one season after his couture debut, the collection suggested Blazy is settling into Chanel's codes rather than fighting them a sign, industry watchers noted, that the transition many feared would be turbulent may end up being the opposite.
