THE ACCESSORY TREND FROM NYFW THAT WILL TRANSLATE PERFECTLY TO ASIAN WARDROBES
Sculptural bags and statement jewelry dominated Michael Kors and Tory Burch's shows and both brands already sell well across the region.

If one category defined NYFW Spring 2027's most talked-about shows, it was accessories - and for shoppers across Asia, where statement bags and layered jewellery have long outsold more understated minimalist accessories, this season's direction looks unusually well-suited to existing regional taste.
At Michael Kors' MoMA sculpture-garden show, sculptural bags held by silver hoops and oversized costume-style bauble rings dominated the front row and runway alike, with reviewers noting the collection seemed to be reviving costume jewellery as a genuine category rather than a supporting detail. At Tory Burch's Noguchi Garden show, models layered multiple mismatched necklaces, carried two clashing handbags simultaneously, and wore silver and gold Double-T charm anklets loud enough to draw audible reactions from the seated crowd - a maximalist accessory philosophy the brand's own show notes described explicitly as "the joy of getting dressed."
Both Michael Kors and Tory Burch maintain substantial retail footprints across East and Southeast Asia, with accessories specifically representing a significant share of both brands' regional sales historically - meaning this season's accessory-forward direction isn't a stylistic gamble so much as a fairly safe commercial bet, built on a trend regional shoppers were already primed to embrace.
For anyone shopping ahead of the Spring 2027 rollout, layering multiple existing necklaces or bracelets from pieces already owned - rather than waiting specifically for new seasonal accessories - is a genuinely accurate, immediately achievable way to wear this trend before the actual runway pieces reach regional stores.
