LONDON FASHION WEEK SPRING 2027: TWO HOMECOMINGS DEFINE THE SEASON

The British Fashion Council's provisional schedule for London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027, running five days from 17 to 21 September, is built around two genuinely significant homecomings for British fashion.

Alexander McQueen returns to the official London schedule for the first time in over two decades - the house has shown in Paris since 2001 - with Irish designer Seán McGirr presenting his London debut, covering both menswear and womenswear for the first time under his direction.

Mulberry, the other headline return, unveils its own creative reset the same day: Scottish designer Christopher Kane's debut collection as the British heritage leather-goods house's creative director, shown in an earlier slot than McQueen on what has become the week's single busiest day, 20 September, alongside established names Simone Rocha, Erdem, Emilia Wickstead and Roksanda all presenting on the same date.

The week opens on 17 September with Paul Costelloe at 10am, followed by Harris Reed, and closes on 21 September with Burberry at 7pm - preceded that same day by Ashish, Di Petsa and Selasi. Marks & Spencer and H&M both appear on the official calendar this season as well, part of what the BFC has described as a deliberately bigger spotlight on retail-facing presentations alongside the week's more traditional runway shows.

For a fashion week that has occasionally struggled to hold top-tier attention against the scale of New York, Milan and Paris, a season built around two major British houses simultaneously restarting under ambitious new creative direction gives London a genuinely strong claim to global relevance this cycle - reinforced by a retail presence on the schedule that signals the BFC's continued effort to connect runway spectacle directly to what consumers can actually buy.
