JENNIE'S CALVIN KLEIN SET AT SUMMER SONIC WAS A '90S HISTORY LESSON

Closing out her festival run for the summer, Blackpink's Jennie took Summer Sonic Tokyo's Mountain Stage in two custom Calvin Klein Collection looks built almost entirely from the house's denim archive.

Continuing a relationship with the brand that dates back to her first campaign appearance in 2021.

The first look revived a specific reference: Calvin Klein's Spring 1993 runway, originally worn by Kate Moss, recreated with the jeans deliberately turned backwards so their pockets and leather patch sat at the front a detail with its own second life in '90s hip-hop styling.

Jennie paired it with a denim waistcoat, CK underwear layer, embroidered beret and layered necklace. The second look moved from homage to invention: a minidress constructed entirely from upcycled Calvin Klein denim waistbands, belt loops left visible as the garment's only real embellishment.

It's the kind of styling that only works when the wearer already has the brand's design vocabulary memorised - which, four years into the partnership, Jennie clearly does.
