Television's biggest night lands on September 14, 2026, when the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on NBC and Peacock, hosted by Mariska Hargitay in NBC's 100th anniversary year. Nominations, announced on July 8, put shows like The Pitt, Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr.

& Carolyn Bessette, and Pluribus at the centre of this year's race. The unusual wrinkle this year is timing: the ceremony falls squarely inside New York Fashion Week, which runs September 10 to 15, forcing stylists to split their attention and their sample-room favours between two coasts in the same week.

Because the show broadcasts live coast-to-coast with no delay for West Coast viewers, the best-dressed conversation online is typically settled within ninety minutes of the carpet opening.

The Creative Arts Emmys, held on separate nights earlier in the ceremony calendar, already offered a preview of the mood: expect sparkle, structured corsetry and bold colour to carry through to the main event. For Singapore audiences tracking both the Emmys and the tail end of the northern fashion calendar, this is the one week where television and fashion news compete for the same headlines.
