BTS V and the Art of Modern Menswear

BTS V has long understood that menswear does not have to choose between elegance and ease. His 2026 fashion appearances continue that conversation, most notably at Celine’s Spring/Summer 2027 menswear show in Paris on 28 June.

For the occasion, V wore a burgundy tailored jacket with a saturated red shirt and dark trousers, creating a monochromatic look that was formal without feeling conventional. The colour was the first thing to register; the relaxed proportions made the second impression. Together, they offered a useful definition of modern menswear: classic construction, loosened by styling.

V’s fashion relevance is partly the result of his ability to make luxury clothing feel lived-in. He does not rely on excessive logos or complicated layering. Instead, colour, silhouette and small details do the work.

That approach mirrors a broader direction in menswear. Across recent collections, tailoring has become softer, wider and less ceremonious, while traditional pieces are increasingly styled with casual footwear, knitwear or unexpected colour.

V sits comfortably inside that evolution. His strongest looks are not costume-like statements. They are recognisable because they feel personal—proof that the most modern form of menswear may simply be tailoring worn with less anxiety.
