Fashion week partnerships between distant cities are more often symbolic than substantive, which is what made Seoul Fashion Week's 2026 collaboration with Berlin Fashion Week notable.

Twelve brands selected through Berlin's own showroom process made their first-ever appearance in Korea via a dedicated 'Berlin Showroom' at MCM's Seoul flagship store in Gangnam, presenting work built around sustainability, traditional craft techniques and material innovation. For Seoul, the collaboration serves a specific strategic goal: diversifying Korean fashion's content and international network at a moment when the city is trying to position itself as more than an exporter of K-fashion trends a genuine two-way meeting point between European and Asian design sensibilities.
