ASOS NAMES LAW ROACH ITS FIRST-EVER STYLIST IN RESIDENCE

Asos has appointed Law Roach - the self-described "image architect" behind red-carpet styling for Zendaya, Celine Dion and Ariana Grande as its first-ever stylist in residence, a newly created role launched 19 September as part of a strategy the retailer is calling The Stylist.

The appointment is grounded in specific consumer research: Asos-commissioned data found 68 percent of consumers say it's easier to know what to buy than how to actually wear it a genuine gap in a market saturated with product choice but comparatively thin on styling guidance. Roach's role will focus on closing that gap directly, working across campaigns, seasonal trend direction and what Asos describes as "cultural storytelling," rather than a one-off endorsement deal.

The partnership's first visible output ties to the relaunch of Asos Magazine, for which Roach styled six covers, each linked to a shoppable edit breaking the cover look down into a complete outfit at Asos price points. The six edits span maximalist dressing, statement tailoring, elevated layering and modern takes on heritage pieces - a range meant to demonstrate Roach's styling philosophy across several distinct registers rather than a single signature look.

"I've always been fascinated by the power of fashion to transform how people see themselves and how they show up in the world," Roach said of the role.

"What excites me about Asos is the opportunity to help more people discover their own point of view through style." Asos executive vice president of brand and creative Vanessa Spence called him "one of the most influential creative voices in fashion today," pointing to his ability to "use style to build confidence, tell stories and shape culture."

Roach - the first-ever recipient of the CFDA's Stylist Award - built his reputation transforming Zendaya from a teenage Disney Channel star into a global fashion power player through strategic, method-driven red-carpet dressing. Translating that same instinct to a mass-market e-tailer's everyday shopper is a genuinely different assignment, and one Asos is betting can reposition the brand around styling expertise rather than sheer product volume.
